Two Sacramento-based firms serving agricultural clients are looking for a part-time temporary intern to assist with a wide range of projects and events.

 

ABOUT US

 

Ag Association Management Services, Inc. (AAMSI) is a firm that provides management and operational services for agricultural associations, foundations, commissions, and marketing orders. We currently manage and/or provide services to a diverse group of 30+ agriculture-based organizations and are well-known in California for being a leader in agriculture.

 

Farmers Communication Exchange works alongside AAMSI as the in-house public relations agency for its list of clients. We provide a range of services from writing and distributing newsletters, producing websites, annual reports and marketing materials. We also have our own list of clients from throughout the ag industry providing product marketing, social media and issues management.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Our goal is to offer a well-rounded experience, tailored to the interests of our interns. Workdays could range from quiet office tasks, such as writing and distributing newsletters or creating social media reels, to time in the field filming video content. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend industry functions or shadow our lobbyist while reviewing current state and federal policy. This is a great opportunity for college students looking to expand their horizons, learn about many facets of both agriculture and communications in a short time, and gain some invaluable networking opportunities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media accounts
  • Create video content
  • Produce and distribute member newsletters
  • Assist with member, staff, and administrative support
  • Participate in association events, meetings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Passion/interest in the agriculture industry.
  • Proficient or have the desire to learn Canva, Adobe Suite and video editing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, be self-motivated and take direction well. Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Experience in communications, or a related field, social media, and/or graphic design is desired.
  • Passion for sharing farmers' stories through engaging storytelling and digital content, including short-form video.
  • Familiar with Gen Z, Millennial, and Gen Alpha trends.

 

Compensation & Hours:

  • Part-Time/Temporary/Internship
  • Flexible – 20 to 25 hours/week
  • Hybrid schedule (in-office and work-from-home)
  • Parking provided at downtown Sacramento office location
  • $17/hour, plus applicable course credit
