Job Title: Project Assistant Intern

Status: Temporary, Part Time (8-10 hours a week) unpaid

Reports To: Residency Program Manager 

Department: Graduate Medical Education (GME)

Work location: On-site at Healthy Rural California, Inc. office

 

The Project Assistant, under the direction and supervision of the GME Director and Program Manger, is a member of the project team and responsible for supporting aleadership in the operational management of grant funded projects. They coordinate the administrative workflow as delegated by the Program Maanger(s), as well as general Sponsoring Institution work as needed, providing administrative support for the Program Director and function as a resource for leadership, faculty, and staff.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Demonstrate a commitment to supporting Healthy Rural California (HRC)’s mission and aims.
  2. Support Program Coordinators in the operational and administrative duties of ensuring residency coordination.
  3. Support GME Director with operational duties for the Sponsoring Institution.
  4. Support relevant committees in an administrative capacity; including minute taking, document creation, andtracking.
  5. Provide general administrative support (i.e. making copies, filing) and assist with project document tracking and file maintenance (electronic).
  6. Assist with events, including recruitment, interviews, orientation, graduation and other medical education/residency program activities.
  7. Develop brochures, invitations, announcements, and other written communications.
  8. Support and communicate residents’ needs to Program Director and Program Maanger.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Residency Manager or Program Director.

 

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned: 

  • Participate as a member of the GME Team
  • Miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as determined by the department. 

 

Minimum Qualifications Education 

  • In a college level program with a focus on public administration or public health.

 

Experience 

  • Passion to improve Public Health, Access to Care, and Mental Health in rural and underserved communities of Northern California required.
  • Experience in a dynamic, start-up or new program environment a plus.

Demonstrates proficiency with computer applications, online resources and equipment utilized by the faculty, residents and administration.
