General Intern
Protecting the Golden State’s working rangelands for generations to come is a monumental goal. Playing a key role in accomplishing that goal can be a personal gratifying achievement for many people. Now there is an opportunity to play that role and feel the pride of knowing you helped permanently conserve thousands of acres of valuable rangelands throughout California.
At the California Rangeland Trust, we work with California ranching families and future generations to preserve our Golden State’s rangeland, air and water quality, wildlife habitat, and local food supplies. The Rangeland Trust is a non-profit organization founded by a group of innovative cattlemen and cattlewomen in 1998, to conserve the open space, natural habitat and stewardship provided by California’s ranches. We are pleased to have helped permanently protect over 400,000 acres of privately-owned rangeland.
The Rangeland Trust is offering a general internship with its team of conservation professionals as it works to protect the next 400,000 acres of valuable working rangelands.
The General Intern position provides the incumbent the opportunity to work in all four functional areas within the organization. These functional areas are Administration, Conservation, Communications, and Fund Development. The position allows the Intern to develop a basic to intermediate understanding of each functional area, performing tasks and fulfilling responsibilities that lead to the success of the Intern and the Rangeland Trust. When completed, the Intern will have had the opportunity to be exposed to myriad aspects of the agricultural organization, including land conservation and stewardship, real estate, communications, fundraising, and general administration. The ultimate goal of the General Internship program is to provide the Intern with wide array of experiences to help the individual choose potential career paths within the agricultural industry.
