Graduate Student Assistant (Racial Justice Act Research and SharePoint Content)Specialist
The Office of the State Public Defender seeks a proactive law or public policy student with a knack for research, a passion for justice, and hands-on experience with SharePoint for a part-time position as its Research and SharePoint Content Specialist.
Position Overview:
As OSPD's Research & SharePoint Content Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in OSPD's ongoing initiatives, especially in the litigation of Racial Justice Act (RJA) claims. Our goal is to make relevant content easily accessible to practitioners. With your adept research skills and proficiency in SharePoint management, you would be key to this development.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be expected to conduct comprehensive research related to racial justice from various sources, including cases, law review articles, and empirical studies, to summarize and articulate research findings in a manner that aids our defense practitioners, to manage and oversee the OSPD RJA SharePoint page and to regularly review, update, and refine the content on the SharePoint page so as to maintain its relevance and user-friendliness. You engage in consultations to provide expert insights and assist legal teams in developing litigation strategies and identifying crucial resources for RJA claims. Finally, you will collaborate with OSPD's IT team to utilize SharePoint expertise for platform enhancement and improvement.
Qualifications:
We are seeking an individual with these qualifications:
• Enrolled in college or university curriculum leading to an advanced degree in Law or Public Policy.
• Strong research skills with a focus on legal and social science content.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing content.
• Team-oriented mindset, with an openness to collaborate across departments.
• Experience with the Racial Justice Act will be an added advantage.
