Court Watch Internship

Become a Vanguard Court Watch Intern!

We offer academic credit for all of our internships upon arrangements with the institution!

We are looking for writers or pre-law students interested in an exciting and challenging program monitoring and reporting court cases in the local courts. This is one of the only opportunities for undergraduate level interns to go into the court room to observe live trials.

The Vanguard Court Watch is a non-profit organization that covers courts in regions throughout California. It offers student interns an opportunity to gain experience in the court house watching and monitoring cases as well as developing their journalistic writing skills for a local online publication.

Interns are sent into the courtroom to take notes, monitor cases, and report on the happenings as well as record observations about current court cases. Our interns are trained by both intern coordinators and all of their work is edited by journalists who have been in the field for years.

Anyone over 18 years of age or attending college is eligible to participate. We ask all interns to commit 10 hours a week for 3 months. We also have a required weekly meeting.

If interested in applying, please send a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to internship@davisvanguard.org.
