Recreation Management Intern

MobilizeGreen seeks a conservation minded Recreation Management Specialist Intern to serve 32 weeks with the Stanislaus National Forest- Calaveras Ranger District. The Resource Assistant (RA) will participate in the recreation program assisting district staff with recreation site maintenance, fee compliance, developed campground facility maintenance, recreation volunteer/partner coordination, and wilderness and trails management/maintenance, working in coordination with fire/fuels/timber/archaeology/wildlife and other programs areas. The position‘s duty station in Hathaway Pines.

The RA will work apart of a team or independently, as needed. Customer service, visitor contact, field work and administrative work in an office is required. Driving on and navigating forest high alpine mountainous roads on a daily basis. And hiking or short backpacking trips may be required. Requires working throughout the day in high temperatures, high elevation and exposed to the sun during the summer and snow/ rain freezing temperatures in the winter. Having high personal integrity, respect and a strong work ethic with a self driven mentality is key to success.
