Museum Internships Available at City of Oroville Museums
The City of Oroville owns and operates five museums located within about a mile of each other in Oroville's Downtown Historical District. Oroville City Museums include The C.F. Lott Historical Home, The Oroville Chinese Temple, The Feather River Nature Center and Native Plant Park, The Bolt’s Antique Tool Museum, and The Pioneer History Museum. Each captures a piece of the region's unique cultural, historical, and ecological heritage.
The City of Oroville is seeking candidates who are interested in gaining museum experience in variety of areas, including collections care, research and management, museum education, museum events and programming, volunteer coordination, museum administration, exhibitions and display and marketing. Internships can be tailored to the interests of the candidate.
Additional information: The C.F. Lott Home, Pioneer History Museum and Chinese Temple illustrate some of the diverse stories of the areas pioneer and gold mining history, including the experience of Chinese gold miners and their legacy. The Feather River Nature Center and Native Plant Park offers education and family friendly activities on weekends about the ecology and habitats along the Feather River. The Bolt’s Antique Tool Museum boasts a collection of more than 12,000 tools that together tell a wider story about human innovation and tool use across history from the first stone tools to the monkey wrench.
