Structural Design Engineer

General Job Description:
This position is responsible for the delivery of engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion of seismic, structural support, and other contract services offered by ACCO Engineered Systems.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
·        Assist with engineering design project planning (i.e., conceptual design through construction drawing development)
·        Assist with coordination of design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
·        Field engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving
·        Equipment anchorage calculations and development of submittal package including BOM
·        Design roof top duct and pipe supports including BOM
·        Seismic restraint calculations for duct and pipe
·        Roof structure verification of existing structures for equipment replacement
·        Design of supplemental steel for equipment, duct or pipe supports including BOM
·        Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members
·        Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines
·        Other duties as assigned by Manager
 
Position Requirements:
·        BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
·        EIT Certificate highly desirable, but not required
·        Understanding of seismic bracing design, attachment design, supplemental support design and calculations
·        Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, or similar drafting software preferred
·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·        Able to work as part of a highly collaborative team
·        Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift

Hours: 
This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 
7:00 am and 5:00 pm with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is 
required and other occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.
