Video Production Assistant

FISHBIO is seeking a video production assistant to support our communications team in producing engaging and compelling short and medium format video content for marketing and educational purposes. This position requires knowledge of videography, editing, and photography (as needed). Interest in graphic design is a plus. Some experience in social media marketing is preferred. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is needed. The position reports to our Video and Graphics Designer. This is a part-time flexible hourly job. Pay starts at $16/hr.
 
Responsibilities include
  • Organizing and maintaining photo and video assets including file management and tagging.
  • Collaborating with the communications team for innovative ideas and concepts.
  • Assisting with script writing.
  • Creating first cuts and creative edits that are interesting, shareable, and fun to watch.
  • Creating assets for video publications on social media (i.e YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) such as thumbnails, video descriptions, tags, etc.
  • Editing short and vlog style videos.
  • Creating short reels and stories for social media marketing.
  • Write short blogs for FISHBIO’s website and short blurb for social media posts.
  • Some local travel may be required to film field research.
 
Qualifications
 
As a small environmental business, we are looking to hire a team player with a positive attitude, who can work independently (with some direction) and has a strong desire to learn and improve. A successful candidate is someone who is also interested in topics concerning the outdoors, fish & wildlife research, conservation, and film.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition.
  • Knowledge of or interest in Creative Cloud Express for social media marketing (will teach if needed).
  • Experienced in operating DSLR/Cinema video equipment.
  • Experienced in three-point lighting, outdoor lighting, and audio systems such as wireless microphones.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
