Journalism Correspondent Internship

Who you are

An energetic, clear communicator who is passionate about reporting on news and issues that matter to you personally and that are of importance to your local community.

You Will

Independently report on news and issues in your local community and offer an authentic, first-person account of developing local news on a wide variety of topics. Authentic storytelling in writing will be a hallmark of your responsibilities, with an underlying theme of influencing real-world impact. Additional key details about the role:

  • This role is remote, part-time, and will align with your schedule in a low-touch routine - your work will not exceed 12 hours/ week.
  • You will work directly with staff correspondents who will help guide and develop your work and provide ample runway to develop depth on topics that you find pertinent.
  • Develop a roadmap to chart the course of your internship with the broader Logos team in order to hone both your field correspondence and writing skills.

Qualifications

Excellent attention to detail, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to work in the field are defining characteristics of a qualified candidate. We prefer candidates to be in pursuit of a career in journalism or a related field, however, this is not required. Candidates should be currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or a graduate university program.

What you will gain

Hands-on experience in the hot-seat of a fast-growing, passionate team committed to developing the future of news. This position will allow you to share your writing and showcase your abilities on a public stage. Following a successful internship, the opportunity to join the Logos team full-time upon graduation will be extended.

From start to publishing, you will own your own narrative and have a creative license to put pen to anything, with guidance from our team. A Logos internship will enable you to unlock your creative potential in the field of journalism through guided professional development.
