Camp Arts Counselor

Who?: Located in the heart of the Verdugo Mountains, Camp Bob Waldorf is an overnight summer camp that brings magical summer camp experiences to the undeserved communities in the Los Angeles area.

A Summer Camp in L.A.?: That's right! Established in 1938, Camp Bob Waldorf is one of the oldest Summer Camps in Los Angeles. We are looking for extraordinary individuals to fill the role of arts counselor for Summer 2022. As an arts counselor you will provide support and supervise campers through their stay at camp, during meal breaks, and throughout arts programming. You will be asked to collaborate in designing meaningful and intentional arts programming for our campers during the summer.

Where would I stay?: Summer camp counselors receive free room and board while camp is in session at the Camp Bob Waldorf campus located in Glendale, California (29 minutes from Hollywood).

When?: Summer sessions begin in early June and last until mid-August for a period of 8-10 weeks (with adequate breaks in between).

Requirements?: Some experience in the arts (dancing, painting, crafts, or music), passion for teaching, and the ability to create programming is preferred but not required

How can I become a competitive applicant?: Applicants should have some experience as a childcare professionals. Experience teaching art, dance, singing is preferred but not required. Applicants should have experience working with children and be able to work with various behavioral issues as they arise. Positions of leadership may become available with appropriate experience.
