The plant manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of two almond hulling plants, one walnut hulling and drying plant, and all of their employees. Their duties include hiring and training employees, reviewing production records to determine whether employees are meeting performance expectations, and coordinating with the general manager to improve production quality and efficiency. The majority of responsibilities take place during harvest season which typically runs from August to December. During the offseason the plant manager will create and oversee maintenance plans and improvement projects. They will coordinate with vendors to complete repairs, resupply inventories, and construct improvement projects.

Plant Manager responsibilities include:
-Oversee operations to ensure employee safety
-Develop plans and projects to ensure operations run smoothly
-Manage production during harvest
-Create and manage budgets
-Recruit, train, and onboard new employees
-Collect and review production data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
-Analyze data and create reports to present to the general manager regarding performance
-Analyze employees and give suggestions on improvements
-Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage

Skills Required
-Adequate knowledge of business and management principles(budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources)
-Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
-Have excellent time management and be able to coordinate and delegate projects
-Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
-Ability to create accountability and lead by example

Skills Preferred
-Bilingual in English and Spanish
-Ability to engineer and fabricate agricultural and manufacturing equipment
