Resident Advisor 2022-2023 - University Housing

University Housing is seeking talented, passionate leaders to join our Resident Advisor (RA) team! RAs serve an integral role in supporting overall student success. Whether it is through taking students to events, late night conversations, performing duty rounds, or talking with a student who is struggling with classes, RAs are committed to creating a positive residential experience.

RAs gain valuable skills in leadership, interpersonal communication, and time management. The RA position is a nationally recognized leadership position and a great addition to any resume.

The RA position is not considered employment with a regular hourly wage. Instead there is a compensation package which includes 4 paid hours per week in addition to room and meal plan.
Students not eligible to work in the US, may apply for the RA role, but will unable to work the desk.

Compensation Package:
  • Single Room and meal plan, approximate value of $13,659
  • Utilities (Water, Gas, Electricity, Trash and Wireless Internet)
  • Early Spring and Fall Class Registration
  • Priority in B Lot Parking Lottery
  • 4 paid hours per week at the desk (at minimum wage) with the ability for additional paid hours

In order to be an RA you must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a full-time enrolled student at Chico State
  • Maintain a 2.5 semester AND cumulative GPA*
  • Be in good conduct standing with campus and University Housing
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • Attend/complete all assigned trainings

Compliance training completion (approx. 4+ hours of work time) is required of this position within the first 30 days of work. Student employees not meeting this requirement may be released from employment.
 
California State University, Chico, in accordance with CSU policy, may require that the successful candidate complete a background check (including a criminal records check, sexual offender registry check and/or fingerprinting) prior to assuming this position. Failure to satisfactorily complete or pass the background check may impact the job offer or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for posted positions identified as sensitive.
