Land Brokerage Associate - Early Career Program
Location Requirement: On-site in Bakersfield, CA (no remote work). Candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense.
Position Overview
This full-time role is designed for individuals committed to building a long-term career in land brokerage, with a focus on agricultural land. As a Land Brokerage Associate, you will work closely with senior advisors and gain direct exposure to how agricultural land transactions are sourced, evaluated, and executed across California.
From identifying ownership and water resources to analyzing crop potential and land value drivers, you’ll learn the core skills of a successful agricultural land broker. You will also interact with our affiliated companies - specialists in capital markets, development strategy, and land analytics - to broaden your understanding of how agricultural land fits into broader investment and land use strategies.
This role plays a key part in supporting Advisors and clients by researching active and emerging opportunities, developing market intelligence, and helping to identify strategic business opportunities within the agricultural land sector.
What You’ll Do
Research Agricultural Land Opportunities
- Conduct detailed market research to identify potential agricultural land listings and ownership opportunities
- Develop familiarity with water sources, water districts, and irrigation infrastructure
- Analyze land characteristics including soil quality, crop history, water availability, and regional agricultural trends
- Understand local land use policies, Williamson Act contracts, and agricultural preservation regulations
Collaborate with Senior Advisors
- Work closely with Advisors to understand client objectives across agricultural investments, operations, and land disposition
- Deliver relevant market insights, including land values, crop trends, water considerations, and ownership profiles
- Assist in identifying and evaluating acquisition and disposition opportunities for agricultural landowners and investors
Report Preparation and Presentation
- Prepare concise research summaries, maps, and presentations for internal use and client-facing materials
- Present key findings and strategic recommendations to Advisors to support decision-making
- Help translate market data into actionable insights for clients
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
- Interest in agriculture or agricultural investment
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Clear, confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and online research tools
- Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative and a desire to learn from top professionals in the industry
